The IRM is always a good opportunity to take a first glimpse at a couple of "first-time-ever-presentations" and specials. Since the IRM itself is not too big, these premieres will be only presented separately on this website. During the IRM itself, these pieces will be presented at the individual displays. BEADMAKING
DEMOS AT THE VILLA BORG'S BEAD FURNACE For the IRM2018, the Villa Borg's bead furnace will be in use. Christian Rupp (Perlenschmiede) and Sabine Aescht (Grafen Shop) will work in shifts at the wood-fired Bead furnace (Perlenofen) PO-Borg-3! The Perlenschmiede's tent/display will be on the IRM2018 open area, too - as well as the Grafen Shop's display in market tent I. www.romanglassmakers.de will present a nice new rage of glass vessel, made at the small wood-fired glass furnace GO-Borg-2 at the Archaeological Park Roman Villa Borg. Also, THE GLASSMAKERS Mark Taylor & David Hill provided us with some nice mould blown chariot beakers and others. Right in time for the IRM2018, the grinding and polishing should be finished so that they may end on top of the sales table. Right in time for the IRM2018, some Roman oil lamps have left the pottery kiln. These lamps feature depictions of gladiator combats or chariot racing. Following the Roman manuacturing technique, they were made using moulds which were provided by David Hill. The lamps will be on sale at the www.romanglassmakers.de's display in romm 2 at the IRM2018.
Maßwerk manufactures historical shoes from all dates ranging from 1000 until 1920. Starting on the first of January 2018, we took over Meister Knieriem's production. We are glad to announce that we will be able to offer his and our quality production range. As Meister Knieriem, we use leather made by small family businesses in the German speaking regions. Our shoes are custom made unique pieces. We also can cope with special requests. Prease refer to www.masswerk-schuhe.de for further information.
